Bergen Community College is proud to host our first-ever Hackathon! Hosted by the STEM Research Center and sponsored by Amazon Web Services, HackBCC is your gateway to innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving within our vibrant STEM community. Participants will work in teams of 4 members, tackle real-world challenges, and present solutions to industry professionals.

HackBCC will be located on BCC’s Paramus Campus in TEC 128 on Friday, March 7th from 8 AM - 9 PM. There are limited spots available so be sure to register as soon as possible.

Registration

Registration ends at 8:30 AM and starts at 7:30 AM.
8:30 - 8:45 AM

Opening Ceremony

The day begins with the opening ceremony, setting the tone and expectations for the event. This will include welcome speeches from organizers, keynote, and MC's to inspire participants.
8:45 - 9:00 AM

Team Building

MC's start us off to inspire participants. and take us into our team building. With a comprehensive guide to the Hackathon.
9:00 - 12:00 Pm

Project Development

Teams starts to develop their projects, refining their ideas and starting final implementations. The afternoon push often involves more detailed development and troubleshooting.
11:00 - 12:00 pm

Workshops

A session aimed at enhancing participants' skills, offering insights relevant to their projects. Experts and mentors lead these workshops, providing valuable industry knowledge and techniques.
12:00 - 1:00 pm

Working Lunch

A break for participants to refuel and network informally with peers and mentors. It's also a time to relax and prepare mentally for the intensive work ahead.

Awards over Dinner

The event Includes dinner, and an awards ceremony recognizing the top teams. Awards are given for the top 3 Groups in All 3 topics for a total of 9 groups winning awards.

Yes, this event is completely free of charge.
Do I need to have a team before I arrive?
No, teams can be formed during the event's initial networking and team-forming sessions.
What should I bring to the hackathon?
Bring your laptop, necessary chargers, any specific hardware for your project, and personal items like snacks, water, and toiletries. WIFI will be provided by the school.
Are meals included?
Yes, lunch and dinner are included, but breakfast is not.
